Gursimar is trying to empower individuals via education, mentorship and open source. He was invited to Paris and presented at the HAProxy Conf 2022 in November 2022. He's a moderator and CFP review committee member for ContainerDays 2023 and staff member and CFP review committee member for PyCon APAC 2023. He was invited to speak at several conferences, including CloudLand 2023, DevOps fwDays 2023, DevOpsDays Warsaw, KCD Czech & Slovak and KCD Sri Lanka. His commitment extends to being a event chair for OpenTofu Day 2023 Europe which is a co-located event of KubeCon 2024 Europe. He has also been the program committee member for data on Kubernetes and Cloud Native Wasm Day, which are co-located events of KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2023. He also reviews CFPs for PyCon India 2023 and HydFOSS, and volunteers for EuroPython.

He finds fulfillment in coaching and assisting hundreds of others online and in person. Currently, he is a Google Developer Educator and author for freeCodeCamp, and was selected as a top contributor. In the past, he has served as a Google Cloud Facilitator, the DevOps/Cloud head for the Google Developers Student Club, and an IBM Z Ambassador. He was designated as a technical volunteer for the ARTH program. He has also been a Twilio Field Operator helping folks in their open source journey.

Through his publications and public speaking, he likes to instruct and motivate other technologists, and he does so by creating accessible learning materials. His objective is to maximize developer productivity, including his own.
