The number of application workloads being deployed on edge computing platforms is rising sharply as organizations seek to process and analyze data closer to the point where it is being created and consumed. Edge has become an essential element in many digital transformation efforts, which have accelerated rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic. But the edge can be a challenging place to update platforms and devices. DevOps tools and processes will play a crucial role in enabling organizations to manage the life cycle of platforms and devices at the edge.
