Employees Everywhere: DevSecOps for Distributed Teams
Date & Time
Wednesday, November 16, 2022, 11:00 AM - 11:15 AM
Description

Distributed software development teams have become the standard for organizations across the world and many employees now work remotely. This trend has increased the threat landscape significantly. Decentralization has also given individual business managers the autonomy to make decisions about the applications and technologies they want to create and use in their departments. While this has improved business unit productivity, it has also introduced security concerns; each department may use different parameters for developing their apps and therefore have varying levels of security protection.

The outdated, gatekeeper role that security teams have played in the past is no longer relevant when working with distributed teams. Today’s organizations need security teams to offer a centralized cybersecurity framework that identifies vulnerabilities before the various teams create their own apps. DevSecOps needs to be an integral part of the strategy.

This session will look at the new paradigm that organizations need to adopt to support the new distributed workforce and the decentralization of IT.
Attendees will learn:

  • How a centralized cybersecurity framework that includes security-by-design and DevSecOps is vital for managing distributed software development teams.
  • Why the role of security teams needs to shift from reactive firefighters to proactive architects that can design and manage a centralized cybersecurity framework for the enterprise.
  • How decentralized business units can make better and safer decisions about the applications they create and use by tapping into the company’s centralized cybersecurity framework.
