Why Observability Matters for Cloud-Native Apps
Description

Observability is not telemetry. It is not monitoring and logging. Observability is, at its core, the ability to ask questions whose answers require access to multidimensional data. Observability lets you answer questions before you even know which questions to ask. In this session, I will go over the definition of observability, what it means and what it doesn't mean (sorry, logging vendors!). I will explain why this matters today more than ever, especially for complex cloud-native systems that lack control and visibility into all components and services, both internal and external.
