Enterprises struggle with how best to incorporate critical mainframe applications into their DevOps programs, to realize the well-established benefits. Recognizing this challenge required a fundamental, modernization change to the underlying platform, mainframe leaders IBM, Broadcom and Rocket Software, with the guidance of the Linux Foundation’s Open Mainframe Project, partnered to create the Zowe open source framework.
This session will introduce the framework, which serves as a bridge between the mainframe and enterprise DevOps tools and processes, and illustrate how it is possible to onboard mainframe applications while preserving the platform’s core attributes, like reliability, scalability and security, which make it the bedrock of enterprise computing.
