Description

An API, or application programming interface, is a set of rules, protocols, and tools that allows different software applications to communicate with each other. APIs are fundamental building blocks of modern software development, enabling developers to integrate functionality from different sources, build on top of existing platforms, and create new applications faster and more efficiently. Integration with an external API or service has become a common challenge of developing AI-enabled applications. While beneficial, this work is complex and asynchronous. In such cases, it is crucial to gather system requirements effectively to make the integration process efficient and effective. Using the OpenAI API as a case study, Maria will share her expertise in gathering requirements for integrations with external APIs and share tips and tricks to avoid common mistakes.
