Dr. Shivagami Gugan is a technologist and aviation specialist with extensive experience in transforming mission-critical systems to modern architectures. Having built organizational strategies and led the software engineering and infrastructure functions at the Emirates Group for more than two decades through modernizations, she derives inspiration when technology advancements are applied rightly to deliver business value. She is a pragmatic technology transformation leader who seeks to apply data engineering, machine learning, AI, reliability engineering and cloud architecture for long-standing growth and sustainability. She is a DevOps Institute lead ambassador and Linux Foundation lead author of the SRE practitioner and the observability courses and principal speaker at international events. At Amazon Web Services, she is the chief technologist for Middle East, Turkey and Africa and AI/ML/GenAI architect for public sector who specialises in bringing about large-scale resilience and transformation of distributed ecosystems. Shivagami was awarded the "Woman of Excellence" by the government of India for her outstanding contribution toward technology innovation and AI toward building the nation.
