Laurie Segall is a correspondent for 60 Minutes+, the streaming version of CBS News' iconic broadcast 60 Minutes, covering technology, culture and entrepreneurship. She also specializes in news from Silicon Valley, emerging companies, and extremism. Since joining CBS News in 2020, Segall covered a range of stories including gaining unprecedented access into several of the fastest-growing extremist movements in the country in 2020, including QAnon and the Boogaloo Boys. She first gained notoriety by identifying and interviewing founders of disruptive technology companies and examining their impact on society. Segall's debut report on 60 Minutes+, the new streaming version of the Sunday classic on Paramount+, featured an exclusive interview with Jacob Chansley, the 'QAnon Shaman', his first time speaking out from jail since the violent Capitol insurrection. Segall has also offered 60 Minutes+ viewers a rare look into violent domestic extremism group Atomwaffen Division.
Segall is the founder of Dot Dot Dot, a news and entertainment company that explores the intersection of tech and humanity. Previously, she was CNN's senior technology correspondent and the editor-at-large for CNN Tech. She has interviewed some of the world's most influential leaders and entrepreneurs, such as Mark Zuckerberg, Tim Cook, Jack Dorsey, and Bill Gates. Her unprecedented access to these titans of tech has allowed her to give audiences a behind-the-scenes look at companies like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Uber.
Segall was named to Forbes' '30 Under 30', Mashable's 'Seven Top Journalists to Subscribe to on Facebook. She has also spoken at several industry conferences, including Internet Week New York and SXSW.
Segall earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan.
