Name
Cloud and Managed Services: Impact of the U.S. Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification
Date & Time
Friday, March 5, 2021, 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Jason Lee Jaclyn Miller
Description

The US Government recognizes that security is foundational to products and services and should not be sacrificed going forward on the basis of cost, availability or performance. To enhance the protection of controlled unclassified information within the broader supply chain, the government has developed the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework.

Building on existing trust-based regulation by adding verification components, the CMMC will review and combine various cybersecurity standards and best practices and map these controls and processes across several maturity levels that range from basic cyber hygiene to advanced security. For a given CMMC level, the associated controls and processes, when implemented, will reduce risk against a specific set of cyber threats.

This session will provide a discussion on the CMMC program and how it is expected to impact U.S. companies in 2021, including:

• Brief intro and overview of the CMMC framework
• Details on what companies and industries it is expected to impact the most
• Viewpoints on implementing CMMC for Cloud and Managed Services
• Potential CMMC changes or evolution from the Biden Administration
• Resources to learn more
